Collace Parish Church

   Sign to Kirkton of Collace

Collace was a Christian church following the Columban Way so the site may date from 800-1000 AD

The present building is some 200 years old but people have worshipped on the site, in the lee of old Dunsinane Hill for 1,000 years. The church at Collace was consecrated a Christian place of worship on 4th June 1242. it was from this church that the then renowned Rev. Andrew Bonar  walked out at the ‘Disruption’ of 1843 to form Collace Free Church. Happily the congregations re-united in 1929 and the former free Church building is now the Village Hall  in nearby Kinrossie. Click here  for more photos of Collace Church.
